Description

  • Reconstitute in 50 μL of sterile water
  • Centrifuge to remove any insoluble material
  • After reconstitution keep aliquots at -20 °C for a higher stability, and at 4 °C with an appropriate antibacterial agent
  • Glycerol (1:1) may be added for an additional stability
  • Avoid repetitive freeze/thaw cycles
  • GDNF is a glycosylated, disulfide-bonded homodimer molecule
  • It was first discovered as a potent survival factor for midbrain dopaminergic neurons and was then shown to rescue these neurons in animal models of Parkinson's disease
  • GDNF is about 100 times more efficient survival factor for spinal motor neurons than the neurotrophins
  • GDNF is a neurotrophic factor that enhances survival and morphological differentiation of dopaminergic neurons and increases their high-affinity dopamine uptake.
