Description

  • Specifically detects Calreticulin (405-417) Clone: in Bovine, Canine, Hamster, Human, Monkey, Mouse, Porcine, Rat samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Immunoprecipitation Calreticulin is a calcium binding protein found primarily in the ER and the sarcoplasmic reticulum, although it also has been detected in the nucleus and nuclear envelope
  • It has the conserved KDEL sequence at its C-terminus for retention in the ER
  • Calreticulin, which contains both high and low affinity calcium binding sites, is involved in calcium storage and regulation
  • The calcium binding at the C-terminus of calreticulin has been postulated to be involved with regulating the interaction of KDEL proteins with the KDEL receptor
  • Calreticulin also acts as a molecular chaperone for protein folding, in concert with Grp78 and Grp94.
