Description

  • Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration
  • For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below
  • Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing
  • Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature
  • This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid
  • Dilute only prior to immediate use
  • Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-rabbit serum, purified and partially purified Albumin [Bovine Serum]
  • Cross reactivity against Albumin from other tissues and species may occur but have not been specifically determined
  • Albumin is a soluble, monomeric protein which comprises about one-half of the blood serum protein
  • Albumin functions primarily as a carrier protein for steroids, fatty acids, and thyroid hormones and plays a role in stabilizing extracellular fluid volume
  • Albumin is a globular unglycosylated serum protein of molecular weight 65,000
  • Albumin is synthesized in the liver as preproalbumin which has an N-terminal peptide that is removed before the nascent protein is released from the rough endoplasmic reticulum
  • The product, proalbumin, is in turn cleaved in the Golgi vesicles to produce the secreted albumin.
