Description

• Store vial at 4°C prior to restoration
• For extended storage aliquot contents and freeze at -20°C or below
• Avoid cycles of freezing and thawing
• Centrifuge product if not completely clear after standing at room temperature
• This product is stable for several weeks at 4°C as an undiluted liquid
• Dilute only prior to immediate use
• Streptavidin Antibody Texas RedTM Conjugated was prepared from monospecific antiserum by delipidation, salt fractionation and ion exchange chromatography followed by extensive dialysis against the buffer stated above
• Assay by immunoelectrophoresis resulted in a single precipitin arc against anti-Rabbit Serum and Streptavidin
• No reaction was observed against Avidin
• Streptavidin is a tetrameric protein purified from Streptomyces avidinii that binds very tightly to the vitamin biotin with a Kd of ∼ 10-14 mol/l
• The high affinity recognition of biotin and biotinylated molecules has made streptavidin one of the most important components in diagnostics and laboratory kits.
