Description
- This antibody cross-reacts with human and mouse viral KSHV
- LANA2 (latency-associated nuclear antigen) is an inhibitor of p53-induced transcription in reporter assays and may be an apoptosis antagonist
- It is a nuclear protein associated with Kaposi's sarcoma-associated herpes virus (KSHV), or human herpes virus 8
- It is found in abundance in the nuclei of cultured cells from KSHV-infected hematopoietic tissues, such as PEL (primary effusion lymphoma) and CD (multicentric Castleman's disease)
- It does not appear to be expressed in KS (Kaposi's sarcoma) lesions.
