- Reacts with Interleukin-8 receptor A (IL-8RA), a G protein-linked seven transmembrane domain protein, expressed on monocytes and granulocytes
- It is also expressed on a subset of T cells
- Both IL-8RA and IL-8RB are high affinity receptors for IL-8
- IL-8 is an inflammatory cytokine which induces chemotaxis of neutrophils, basophils and T lymphocytes
- IL-8RA and IL-8RB were first clustered as CD128a and CD128b, respectively in the VIIth HLDA workshop,and then were re-clustered as CD181 and CD182, respectively in the VIIIth HLDA workshop.
