Description
- Clone RB6-8C5 reacts predominantly with the Ly-6G protein but weaker reactivity with the Ly-6C protein has been reported, possibly because certain sub-populations of bone marrow cells simultaneously express both Ly-6C and Ly-6G
- Reconstitute with 1 mL of distilled water
- After reconstitution, store product undiluted at 4oC in the dark
- For FACS analysis, use 10 μL of the suggested working dilution to label 1x10^6 cells in 100 μL
- Rat anti Mouse Gr-1 antibody, clone RB6-8C5 recognizes the mouse Gr-1 antigen, a approximately 21–25 kDa GPI anchored cell surface protein bearing a single uPAR/Ly6 domain that belongs to the Ly-6 family of proteins
- Granulocytes are a category of white blood cells characterised by the presence of granules in their cytoplasm
- They are also called polymorphonuclear leukocytes (PMN or PML) because of the varying shapes of the nucleus, which is usually lobed into three segments
- In common parlance, the term polymorphonuclear leukocyte often refers specifically to neutrophil granulocytes, the most abundant of the granulocytes
- Granulocytes or PMN are released from the bone marrow by the regulatory complement proteins.
