Description
- Specifically detects Kallikrein 2/KLK2 clone: 4F2.3 in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunohistochemistry, Western Blotting Kallikrein-2, also known as Glandular kallikrein-1 (hGK-1) or Tissue kallikrein-2, is encoded by the KLK2 gene
- Kallikrein-2 is a serine protease produced by secretory epithelial cells in the prostate
- Kallikrein-2 cleaves Met-Lys and Arg-Ser amide linkages in kininogen to release Lys-bradykinin
- It is also known to activate the proforms of prostate-specific antigen (PSA) and urokinase type plasminogen activator (uPA), as well as inactivate plasminogen activator inhibitor-1 (PAI-1)
- both PSA and Kallikrein-2 are used as prostate cancer markers.
