Description

  • Specifically detects ING4 Clone: BTIM-4 in Human, Mouse samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry, Western Blotting Inhibitor of growth protein 4 (UniProt Q9UNL4; also known as Brain my036 protein, Candidate tumor suppressor p33 ING1 homolog, p29ING4) is encoded by the ING4 gene (ORF My036; Gene ID 51147) in human
  • The inhibitor of growth (ING) family tumor suppressor ING4 is a transcription regulator that exerts its function via chromatin remodeling
  • ING4 to targets the trimethylated lysine 4 of histone H3 (H3K4me3) via its conserved plant homeodomain (PHD) finger motif and is shown to associate with the HBO1/JADE histone acetyltransferase (HAT) complex
  • ING4 is shown to play a role in many cancer-related cellular processes, including cell proliferation, apoptosis, migration, angiogenesis, contact inhibition, DNA damage response, and hypoxia
  • Both gene deletion and reduced ING4 expression are reported in cancers of diverse tissue types, although ING4 knockout by itself does not cause increased spontaneous tumor formation in mice
  • Immunohistochemistry analysis of breast cancer tissues shows that 34% of tumors expressed undetectable to low levels of ING4
  • In addition, ING4 downregulation inversely correlates with an increase in NF-κB activation and NF-κB-dependent genes expression in primary breast tumors.
