Description

  • PA5-19481 targets Sortilin in flow cytometry, immunoprecipitation, immunocytochemistry, immunofluorescence, immunohistochemistry (frozen), and Western blot applications and shows reactivity with Human, mouse, Cow, and Rat samples
  • The PA5-19481 immunogen is synthetic peptide conjugated to KLH derived from within residues 800 to the C-terminus of Human Sortilin
  • PA5-19481 detects Sortilin which has a predicted molecular weight of approximately ∽100 kDa
  • Sortilin functions as a sorting receptor in the Golgi compartment and as a clearance receptor on the cell surface
  • Sortilin is required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the lysosomes by a pathway that is independent of the mannose-6-phosphate receptor (M6PR)
  • It is also required for protein transport from the Golgi apparatus to the endosomes
  • Sortilin promotes neuronal apoptosis by mediating endocytosis of the proapoptotic precursor forms of BDNF (proBDNF) and NGFB (proNGFB)
  • Also, Sortilin acts as a receptor for neurotensin.
