Description

  • NALP11 is a 1033 amino acid containing cytoplasmic protein belonging to the NLRP family with a DAPIN domain, six LRR (leucine-rich) repeats and a NACHT domain
  • Reports suggest that it is a short NALP involved in inflammation potential
  • NALP proteins are implicated in the activation of proinflammatory caspases (e.g., CASP1) via their involvement in multiprotein complexes called inflammasomes
  • The DAPIN domain is necessary and sufficient for suppression of NF-kappa B activation induced by TNF and for inducing IL-1B secretion in collaboration with Caspase-1
  • It is involved in interaction with PYCARD.
