Description
- BDY FL, SE is a fluorescent green BDY (BODIPY™ or boron-dipyrromethene) dye for the labeling of amines
- Exhibits similar excitation and emission spectra to dyes TFAX 488 and FITC
- Displays high fluorescence quantum yield and high extinction coefficient and is relatively insensitive to pH change
- This dye contains a C3 alkyl spacer between the fluorophore and the NHS ester group, reducing the potential for interactions between fluorophore and conjugated biomolecule
- The hydrophobic nature of BDY FL makes it ideal for labeling lipids and cell membranes
- BDY FL also exhibits narrow emission bandwidths and has a relatively long excited-state lifetime, making it ideal for fluorescence polarization assays and two-photon excitation (TPE) microscopy
- Excitation maximum ∽504 nM; emission maximum ∽510 nM
