- Application: Ethyl glycollate is an important building block for the preparation of medicinal compounds and agrochemicals.[2] It may be used:as starting reagent in the synthesis of 2-ferrocenylfuran[3]as substrate during the polycondensation of α-hydroxy acids by enzymes and polyethylene glycol (PEG)-modified enzymes[4]in the synthesis of poly(PDL-GA) copolymers, via enzymatic catalysis[5]
