• General description: Sodium ascorbate, also known as E301, is a sodium salt of ascorbic acid. It is generally used as an antioxidant in pharmaceutical formulations and food products.[1]Pharmaceutical secondary standards for application in quality control provide pharma laboratories and manufacturers with a convenient and cost-effective alternative to the preparation of in-house working standards and pharmacopeia primary standards.
• Application: Sodium ascorbate may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the determination of the analyte in bulk drug and pharmaceutical formulations by titrimetry[2] and liquid chromatography.[3]
