Description
- General description: Sulfoquinovosyl-diacylglycerol (SQDG) is an anionic lipid, which constitutes 20-40% of total lipids in the thylakoid membranes. It is a glycolipid,[1] that plays a major role in photosystem II (PSII) activities in Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803.[2]
- Application: SQDG has been used as an additive for photosystems I (PSI) crystallization.[3][4] It has also been used as a standard for mass spectrometry analysis of lipids.[5][6]
