- Application: 11:0 PC has been used as a direct supplementation in bacteria, that are seeded onto the plates to study its effects on lipid accumulation.[3]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: Phosphatidylcholine (PC) functions as a surfactant within the mucus to form a hydrophobic surface to inhibit bacterial penetrance.[2] It is used to treat fat embolism. Phosphatidylcholine lowers the levels of cholesterol and triglycerides.[4]
