Description

  • General description: 18:1 Lyso phosphoglycerol is a lyso-phospholipid detergent.[1] Lyso-phospholipids are synthesized in γ-proteobacteria. They are non bilayer- forming lipids, present in very minute amounts.[2]
  • Application: 18:1 Lyso PG may be used: for the preparation of liposomes[3]to determine the effects of phosphoglycerol(PG) and cardiolipin (CL) in F0F1 ATPase c subunit (F0-c) transformation[4] as an acyl acceptor to determine the substrate specificity of recombinant G0/G1 switch gene 2 (G0S2) for acyl acceptors[5]
  • Biochem/physiol Actions: Lyso phosphoglycerol (Lyso PG) serves as a substrate for lysophosphatidylglycerol acyltransferase 1 (LPGAT1) for the synthesis of phosphoglycerol.[6] Accumulation of lysophospholipids in bacterial membranes disturbs the membrane integrity due to its detergent-like physical property.[2]
  • Packaging: 5 mL Clear Glass Sealed Ampule (858125P-500mg)
