- General description: D-ribo-Phytosphingosine-1-Phosphate (phS1P) is a ligand for the sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 4.[1] It is present in the membrane of plants, fungi, mammalian tissues and bacteria.[2]
- Application: D-ribo-Phytosphingosine-1-Phosphate is suitable for use as a ligand for sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 4 in competition binding studies.[1] It is also suitable for use as an internal standard for the quantification of spingoid bases in maize samples using mass spectrometry[3] and reverse phase high-performance liquid chromatography[4]
- Biochem/physiol Actions: D-ribo-Phytosphingosine-1-Phosphate (phS1P) plays a key role in cell growth. In yeast, it coordinates response to heat stress.[2]
