- General description: Human insulin is a peptide hormone, composed of 51 amino acids, produced by beta cells of the pancreatic islets. Insulin regulates the metabolism of carbohydrates, fats and protein by promoting the absorption of, especially glucose from the blood into liver, fat and skeletal muscle cells. Insulin levels are routinely measured to evaluate insulin production; diagnose insulin-producing tumors; determine hypoglycemia or to identify insulin resistance. This certified Snap-N-Spike® solution of the fully-intact human insulin protein is suitable for use as starting material in calibrators and controls in LC-MS/MS insulin testing methods.
- Application: Human Insulin solution is suitable for the in vitro identification, calibration, and quantification of the analyte(s) in analytical and R&D applications.
- Features and Benefits: The active insulin content is determined through quantitative amino acid analysis (AAA) and chromatographic purity.Each raw material used in the standard has undergone identification and thorough characterization using multiple analytical techniques.A Mass Balance Purity Factor is assigned to each raw material.The standard is prepared using balances that are fully qualified and calibrated to meet ISO 17025 requirements.The standard is prepared and certified under the ISO 17034, ISO/IEC 17025, ISO 9001, and ISO 13485 standards.
