- Application: 5-Bromo-1-pentene was used in stereoselective synthesis of 7α-(3-carboxypropyl) estradiol[1]. It was used in preparation of thioacetate 11 of sialic acid having thioglycosidic linkage[2]. It was also used as staring material in recent syntheses of DL-histrionicotoxin[3] and benzophenone-containing fatty acids[4].
