- Application: 1,3-Diphenyl-2-propanone is used as a precursor to synthesize structurally defined, fluorescent polyphenylene dendrimers as light emitters for organic light emitting diodes.[1][2][3] It is also used in the synthesis of several other polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons[4][5] and conjugated polymers.[6]
