- General description: L-Phenylalanine is an essential aromatic amino acid. It has a role in metabolism as it forms a starting point for many pathways. This neutral amino acid is a precursor for tyrosine, epinephrine, dopamine and norepinephrine.
- Application: L-Phenylalanine may be used as a pharmaceutical reference standard for the quantification of the analyte in pharmaceutical formulations using high-performance liquid chromatography technique.[1]
