Description
- General description: Divinylbenzene (DVB) consists of a combination of meta and para isomers of DVB and ethylvinylbenzene. It can be used as a monomer for the preparation of linear polydivinylbenzene by anionic polymerization.[1][2]
- Application: DVB can be co-polymerized with sulfur due to its high reactivity. It can be used as a cathode material in lithium-sulfur batteries.[3] It can also be used as a cross-linker that increases the rigidity and reduces the template leakage of the molecular imprinted polymers (MIPs).[4] DVB can be polymerized to form poly(divinylbenzene) that can be carbonized to fabricate activated carbon monoliths.[5]
