- Stimulates activation of glucose metabolism; regulates gluconeogenesis in vitro and in vivo and exhibits antidiabetic effects
- Also promotes increased BDNF mRNA levels in cultured cortical neurons and has memory enhancing and antidepressant effects in vivo .
