Description

• General description: Galactocerebroside (GalC) is a major galactosphingolipid of myelin which plays a role in myelination. GalC is a very useful, specific marker for oligodendroglial lineage.
• Specificity: Galactocerebroside (GalC), sulfatide, psychosine and other galactolipids cross-reacts with the sulfatide ester of GalC, but to a 16-fold lesser extent. No cross-reactivity with sphingosine, ceramide, mixed ganglioside or glucocerebroside. Binds specifically with oligodendrocytes and Schwann cells.
• Immunogen: Synaptic plasma membranes from bovine hippocampus.
• Application: Detect Galactocerebroside using this Milli-Mark Anti-Galactocerebroside-FITC Antibody, clone mGalC validated for use in FC.
• Quality: Evaluated by flow cytometry using PC-12 cells.
• Physical form: Protein A purified
• Storage and Stability: Maintain refrigerated at 2-8 °C protected from light in undiluted aliquots for up to 6 months from date of receipt.
