- Mouse anti Human C3d antibody, clone 053A-1149.3.1.4 recognizes human complement component 3d (C3d), a approximately 33 kDa polypeptide fragment generated over the course of complement activation where complement 3 (C3) convertases cleave C3 to C3b, which is further degraded into iC3b and C3dg/C3d
- C3 is a key component of the complement system since classical and alternative activation pathways merge at the C3 activation step when C3 is split into C3a and C3b
- The molecular mass of C3 is 185 kDa and it consists of two chains (110 kDa and 75 kDa) held together by disulfide bonds.
