  • Sorting nexin-17 (UniProt Q15036) is encoded by the SNX17 (also known as KIAA0064) gene (Gene ID 9784) in human
  • The sorting nexins (SNXs) constitute a family of adaptor proteins involved in proteins trafficking through the endosomal pathway
  • Originally identified as a binding partner of the cell adhesion protein P-selectin, sorting nexin-17 (SNX17) has since been shown to mediate internalization and recycling of multiple cell surface proteins including P-selectin, amyloid precursor protein (APP), integrin β1, low density lipoprotein receptor (LDLR), LDLR related protein (Lrp1), ApoER2, and FEEL1
