Description

  • PA3-900 detects calreticulin from human, non-human primate, rabbit, mouse, canine and rat samples
  • PA3-900 has been successfully used in Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, and immunoprecipitation procedures
  • By Western blot, this antibody detects an ∽60 kDa protein representing calreticulin from rat brain extract
  • Immunofluorescence staining of calreticulin in rat brain cortex with PA3-900 results in fine granular staining consistent with ER localization
  • PA3-900 immunogen is recombinant human calreticulin protein produced in the Baculovirus insect cell system
  • Calr or Calreticulin is a calcium-binding chaperone that promotes folding, oligomeric assembly and quality control in the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) via the calreticulin/calnexin cycle
  • Calr, a lectin, interacts transiently with almost all of the monoglucosylated glycoproteins that are synthesized in the ER
  • Calr also interacts with with the DNA-binding domain of NR3C1 and mediates its nuclear export
  • It may also be involved in maternal gene expression regulation and oocyte maturation via the regulation of calcium homeostasis.
