- This antibody does not cross-react with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium phlei, Corynebacterium bovis, or Mycoplasma bovis
- Mouse anti Mycobacterium avium, clone 2A4, recognizes Mycobacterium avium
- It does not react with Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium phlei, Corynebacterium bovis or Mycoplasma bovis
- Mycobacteria are straight or slightly curved, non motile rods that cause TB
- Mycobacteria avium causes TB in birds and a pulmonary infection of humans
- It can also be transmitted to immunocompromised humans such as AIDS patients where it can cause disseminated Mycobacterium avium complex (MAC).
