Description

  • Adropin is involved in the regulation of glucose homestasis and lipid metabolism
  • It is a secreted protein encoded by the Energy Homeostasis Associated gene (ENHO) found in the brain and liver
  • In the liver, the protein has been found to increase in response to high-fat foods and decrease after fasting
  • The protein seems to play a role in controlling the activity of other metabolic genes, specifically those involved in the production of lipids from carbohydrates.
