Description

  • Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein (GFAP) is specific to astrocytes (i.e., glial cells) and ependymal cells of the central nervous system
  • Antibody to GFAP is useful in differentiating primary gliomas from metastatic lesions in the brain and for documenting astrocytic differentiation in tumors outside the CNS
  • Ab-6 stains astrocytes, glial cells, ependymal cells and their corresponding tumors
  • Many types of neural tumors such as neuroblastomas, Schwannomas, as well as extra-CNS tumors are not labeled
  • Host Species: Mouse Clone: ASTRO6 Isotype: IgG1 Species Reactivity: Human, Pig, Rat and Chicken
  • Others not known
  • Epitope: Not determined Immunogen: Glial Fibrillary Acidic Protein Molecular Weight: 51-52 kDa Positive Control: IMR-5 cells, Brain or astrocytoma Cellular Localization: Cytoplasmic Recommended for: Immunohistochemistry (Formalin/paraffin) Western Blotting Immunofluorescence General References: 1
