Test Specificity

This antibody recognizes extracellular Ig domain D1 of BSG (Neurothelin), a 50-60 KDa type I transmembrane glycoprotein primarily expressed on all leukocytes, redblood cells, platelets and endothelial cells; it is not expressed by resting lymphocytes. This antibody is a high-affinity antibody capable of binding to unstimulated peripheral blood T cells.

Description

  • The protein encoded by this gene is a plasma membrane protein that is important in spermatogenesis, embryo implantation, neural network formation, and tumor progression
  • The encoded protein is also a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily
  • Multiple transcript variants encoding different isoforms have been found for this gene
