Description

  • Specifically detects ALKBH1 in Human, Mouse samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Immunohistochemistry ALKBH1 is a DNA lyase that is critical for DNA repair and specifically repairs alkylated single-stranded DNA and RNA containing 3-methylcytosine by oxidative demethylation
  • ALKBH1 can also cleave both single-stranded and double-stranded DNA at basic sites, and ALKBH1 can induce double stranded breaks at basic sites
  • Finally, ALKBH1 plays a role in placental trophoblast lineage differentiation during development, and ALKBH1 may also play a role in neuronal development and migration
  • ALKBH1 is widely expressed and localizes to mitochondria and nucleus
  • The nuclear localization of ALKBH1 appears to be as part of fusion proteins with nuclear targeted proteins or when the first 26 N-terminal residues are removed.
