Description

  • Specifically detects S1P Lyase in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunohistochemistry, Western Blotting Sphingosine-1-phosphate lyase 1 (EC 4.1.2.27; UniProt O95470; also known as hSPL, S1P lyase, Sphingosine-1-phosphate aldolase, SPL 1, SP-lyase 1) is a type III single-pass ER membrane protein encoded by the SGPL1 (Also known as S1PL, SPL) gene in human (Gene ID 8879)
  • SP-lyase 1 catalyzes the irreversible retro-aldol cleavage of sphingosine 1-phosphate to 2-hexadecenal and phosphoethanolamine
  • S1P lyase activity knockout is reported to offer protection in experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis (EAE), a murine model of multiple sclerosis (MS), by preventing T cell egress from the lymph nodes into central nervous system (CNS)
  • S1P lyase overexpression is also demonstrated to potentiate serum withdrawal-induced apoptosis in HEK293 cultures.
