Description

  • Specifically detects Claudin-4 in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Western Blotting Claudin 4, also known as Clostridium perfringens enterotoxin receptor, or CPE-R, or CPE-receptor or Williams-Beuren syndrome chromosomal region 8 protein, and encoded by the gene CLDN4/CPER/CPETR1/WBSCR8, plays a critical role in tight junction specific obliteration of intercellular space
  • Claudin 4 directly interacts with several important tight junction associated proteins including ZO-1,2,3 and EPHA2 proteins, and through these interactions, Claudin 4 regulates tight junction formation
  • Claudin 4 is localized to cell junctions and membranes at tight junctions
  • Claudin 4 is expressed in most tissues particularly in intestine, liver, and pancreas
  • Defects in Claudin 4 may be associated with Williams Beuren syndrome genetic deletion syndrome
  • Claudin 4 is also over expressed in many cancers and thus is a target of anti-cancer research using C
  • perfringens enterotoxin.
