Description

  • Specifically detects ACD clone: 1G10.3 in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Western Blotting Adrenocortical dysplasia protein homolog (also known as POT1 and TIN2 organizing protein or TIN2-interacting protein) is a nuclear protein encoded by the ACD gene in human (also known as PIP1, PTOP, TINT1, TPP1)
  • It a component of the shelterin complex (telosome) and is involved in the regulation of telomere length and protection
  • Shelterin associates with arrays of double-stranded TTAGGG repeats added by telomerase and protects chromosome ends
  • Without its protective activity, telomeres are no longer hidden from the DNA damage surveillance, and chromosome ends are inappropriately processed by DNA repair pathways
  • The ACD-POT1 heterodimer is reported to enhance telomere elongation by increasing telomerase processivity (PMID 17237768).
