Description

  • Specifically detects MEKK5 clone: TC003 in Mouse samples, and it is validated for Western Blotting MEKK5 (MAP3K5) is a key kinase for our innate immunity and for mediating cellular signaling cascades evoked by changes in the external cellular environment
  • As such, MEKK5 is critical for cell fate during development, apoptosis, and cell survival as well as in modulating the host defense responses from a wide range of pathogens
  • MEKK5 acts as an upstream activator of the MKK/JNK signaling pathways and the p38 MAPK signaling pathways that ultimately results in activating multiple kinases such as MAP2K3/Mkk3 or MKK6/MMK7
  • MEKK5 is inactive as an unphosphorylated homodimer, and MEKK5 binds both upstream activators and downstream substrates in multi-molecular complexes
  • Expression is widespread and localized in the cytoplasmic in the perinuclear endoplasmic reticulum region, and MEKK5 is abundantly expressed in heart and pancreas
  • MEKK5 is regulated via phosphorylation and ubiquitination and degradation via the proteasome.
