Description

  • Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1mM EDTA buffer, pH 8.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min
  • Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature
  • A suggested positive control is prostate adenocarcinoma with XMRV infection
  • Xenotropic murine leukemia virus-related virus (XMRV) is a newly recognized human retrovirus first identified in prostate cancer tissues from men with a deficiency in the innate immunity gene RNASEL
  • At present, studies have detected XMRV DNA and protein in prostate cancer at widely different rates and in patients with chronic fatigue syndrome
  • The XMRV protein is synthesized in the Golgi by host cells.
