Description

  • Reacts with Galectin-3, a 30kDa protein, a member of a newly defined family of β-galactoside-binding animal lectins
  • It has been previously referred to as IgE-binding protein (εBP) and carbohydrate-binding protein 35 (CBP35)
  • It is expressed on many tissues and cell types
  • Galectin-3 can be found in the nucleus and/or cytoplasm, on the cell surface and in the extra cellular matrix
  • Its function has been found to be diverse
  • It has been reported to be markedly elevated in the nucleus of proliferating cells, suggesting that Galectin-3 may play a role in cell growth regulation
  • Studies of Galectin-3 on the cell surface have shown it to be a non-integrin, laminin-binding protein, suggesting its role in cell adhesion to basement membranes
  • Monoclonal antibody B2C10 is suitable for immunohistochemical staining of parafin-embedded tissue sections
  • Host Species: Mouse Clone: B2C10 Isotype: IgG1, κ Cross Reactivity: Human Immunohistochemistry, Intracellular Staining
