- This antibody specifically recognizes members of the Aspergillus species including A
- fumigatus, A
- flavus and A
- niger, reacting strongly with walls and septae, and to a lesser extent within the cytoplasm of hyphae
- This product requires protein digestion pre-treatment of paraffin sections using trypsin or pronase
- In Western blot, this antibody detects a band at ∽106k Da in Aspergillus fumigatus wall fraction (WF)
- Aspergillus species are highly aerobic and are found in almost all oxygen-rich environments, where they commonly grow as molds on the surface of a substrate, as a result of the high oxygen tension
- Some Aspergillus species cause serious disease in humans.
