Description

  • Specifically detects FYVE (Alfy domain) clone: 5B11.1 in Human samples, and it is validated for Immunocytochemistry, Immunoprecipitation, Western Blotting Phosphatidylinositol-3-phosphate [PtdIns(3)P] regulates endocytic and autophagic membrane traffic
  • PtdIns(3)P-binding proteins, many of which contain FYVE zinc-finger domains play important roles in the metabolism of PtdIns(3)P
  • The FYVE-protein Alfy, is a large, scaffolding, multi-domain, PtdIns(3)P binding protein that is implicated in autophagy trafficking
  • Alfy is widely expressed and localizes to the nuclear membranes during normal cell health but relocalizes to autophagic membranes and ubiquitin containing aggregates during cellular stress
  • Alfy is also a LC3 binding protein and binds GABARAPs too
  • Binding of Alfy to GABARAP is indispensable for its recruitment to LC3B-positive structures and thus, for the clearance of certain p62 structures by autophagy
  • Latest research indicates that Alfy is also important in regulating autophagy's role in various diseases including rheumatoid arthritis and neurological diseases.
