Description

  • Specifically detects Iba1/AIF1 Clone: 20A12.1 in Human, Mouse, Rat samples, and it is validated for Immunohistochemistry Allograft inflammatory factor 1 (UniProt P55008; also known as AIF-1, Daintain, Interferon gamma responsive transcript, Ionized calcium-binding adapter molecule 1, Protein G1) is encoded by the AIF1 (also known as G1, IBA1) gene (Gene ID 199) in human
  • Iba1/AIF1 is a 17kDa interferon-gamma- (IFN-gamma-) inducible, Ca(2+)-binding EF-hand protein
  • Iba1/AIF1 expression is mostly limited to the macrophage/monocyte lineage, and is augmented by cytokines, such as IFN-gamma
  • It is reported to be involved in neuronal function, inflammatory responses, allograft rejection, autoimmunity, and macrophage activation/function
  • It is also shown to be expressed in microglial cells in autominnume disesase models such as experimental autoimmune encephalomyelitis, neuritis and uveitis.
