Description

  • This antibody is predicted to react with rabbit, pig, bovine, guinea pig and chicken based on sequence homology
  • In Western blot, this antibody detects a ∽120 kDa band in human, mouse and rat brain tissue lysates
  • Amyloid Precursor Protein (APP) or Amyloid beta protein functions as a cell surface kinesin I membrane receptor, mediating the axonal transport of beta-secretase and presenilin 1; APP is rapidly internalized via clathrin-coated pits
  • APP is important for neurite growth, neuronal adhesion and axonogenesis
  • Mutations in the APP gene can lead to Alzheimer disease 1 (AD1)
  • This anitbody recognizes APP (b-APP770) with a MW of approximately 100kDa.
