Description
- Heat-mediated antigen retrieval is recommended prior to staining, using a 1mM EDTA buffer, pH 8.0, for 10 minutes followed by cooling at room temperature for 20 min
- Following antigen retrieval, incubate samples with primary antibody for 10 min at room temperature
- A suggested positive control is prostate adenocarcinoma or fetal kidney
- Slit homolog 2 proteins (SLIT2) are ligands for the Roundabout (Robo) receptors and act as molecule guidance cues in cell migration
- Slit1 and Slit2 are essential for midline guidance in the forebrain by acting as repulsive signals preventing inappropriate midline crossing by axons projecting from the olfactory bulb
- Slit2 protein is expressed in fetal lung and kidney, and adult spinal cord
- Weak expression is also noticed in adult adrenal gland, thyroid, and trachea
- SLIT2 is a target for repression by EZH2 and is up-regulated in prostate cancer.
